Jupiter in Cancer Squares Uranus in Aries = Love The One You're With.

My grandchildren live about three hours from me. Not so far that I can't see them now and then but definitely not close enough to satisfy this Grandma's heart. I've tried everything to strengthen our sense of connection including trips and emails and letters and videos but although that's created a stronger bond between us, it's also heightened the sense of separation.

This month the planet Jupiter is in Cancer and heading for a square to Uranus the middle of this week. When I first noted this line up I considered whether this might mean an unexpected visit (Uranus) from distant family (Jupiter, travel, in Cancer). But as the aspect becomes exact I see a different pattern emerging: various nearby friends and neighbors have been dropping by to invite me to their family events! I've been allowed to play grandma to their off spring and feel a sense of family even though we are not "blood." My conclusion is that Jupiter square Uranus is giving us an opportunity to expand family (Jupiter in Cancer) to include Outsiders (Uranus) - and to recognize that no matter what the outer appearance is, these stand-ins can allow us to experience the sense of love that we had been starve for when we demanded it come from a select few. By joining in with my neighbor's family I got to spend a wonderful day playing with three sweet little girls. I not only got to exercise my "granny" genes, but who knows - maybe we're setting the stage for the day my little grandsons come up and meet these adorable mountain "cousins"? Anyway, the message here is that Uranus and Jupiter are bouncing off of each other this spring and it's sure to create re-ordering in the family dynamic. If you are caught up in this shift I think the best advice an astrologer can give is, "Don't try to maintain the old rituals - release the past and love the ones you're with!"

Other powerful aspects influencing us this week and in the months ahead include Mars AND Saturn both turning retrograde. This is a big warning flag to slow down (Mars the energy planet turning retrograde in Libra, the sign of partnership) and to not take on additional responsibilities (Saturn retrograde n Scorpio, the planet of responsibilities retrograde in the sign of shared resources). Of course the world can't stop turning until mid July, but as you look at your choices as much as possible it would seem wise to not make binding commitments until after these planets turn direct. For example, a friend is traveling to India to meet a computer match she's never seen in person. Their intention is that they will marry! As you can imagine, her mother and I are hoping they'll not overly commit themselves right off the bat but get to know each other without any sense of obligation for a bit first. (Hmmm…just noted how the bride could be acting out the role of Jupiter in Cancer - traveling a long ways to be a part of a family. Uranus in Aries warns of culture shock!)

Mercury turns direct Friday. If you've been experiencing mix-ups hopefully this change means the communication glitches will resolve and information will again flow smoothly.

Pisces New Moon happens March 1. Ordinarily it's a positive to start new projects right after the New Moon but this month the Mars and Saturn reversals caution taking things very slow and carefully.

Slowly and carefully sending you lots of good wishes,
Rosada

The Sun/Neptune Connection: Dream Big But Stay Real.

There are some major breakthroughs coming up with the planets this month, but you'll find that out next week. Right now it's enough to know it's okay to be optimistic. This is a good time to just quit stressing the To Do List and chill for a few days. Tuesday, February 18, the Sun is moving out of the figure-it-all-out sign Aquarius and entering the go-with-the-flow sign Pisces. If you've been experiencing a sense of your mind being on overdrive lately you'll appreciate the shift to a softer, gentler pace. The next four weeks, when the Sun is cruising through Pisces, are geared for dreams and visualizations and letting problems solve themselves. Sure, handle the bills as they come in, but no need to worry ahead of time. Remember Jupiter in imaginative Cancer is squaring Uranus the planet of break-ups and breakthroughs so you can use this energy to manifest some favorite fantasies or to fuel your worst nightmares. If you do find yourself dancing with  demons, the Pisces solution is to find someone in need and do unto them as you would have others do unto you.

On Wednesday night, February 19 the Moon glides into Scorpio and trines the Pisces Sun. Scorpio rules secrets and hidden things so use this easy energy to do things that require discretion or just look for hidden treasures. The pleasant vibe continues throughout Thursday and could lead you to some great antique or thrift shop finds.

Mercury remains retrograde all month. You may feel the urge to check up on old lovers and friends. There's a perfect opportunity Friday at 1:00 p.m. est. The Moon will be sextiling loving Venus but then conjuncting realistic Saturn. He'll be glad to hear from you and if there's any potential Saturn will let you feel it right away.

The main astrological event this week is the Sun's annual meet up with Neptune on Sunday morning, February 23rd. Go to church or take a walk in the park - do something to align yourself with this flow of inspiration - but also stay grounded and remember if something appears to be too good to be true it probably is.

In any case - everything works out okay in the end.

p.s. And if it's not okay, it's not the end!

Valentine's Day Reading

Valentine's Day is one of those holidays that create more tension than celebration. Often chosen as the drop dead date for romance -  "If he doesn't pop the question by Valentine's Day it's over!" - this year even the planets seem primed to rain on Cupid's special moment:

Valentine's Day starts with an early morning Moon square Saturn, hardly an omen of light hearted fun. What could it mean? For one thing, any kid who has ever been inclined to be forgetful should make themselves a reminder to take their Valentines to school.

Afternoon office parties will be getting boisterous as the moon turns full in the late afternoon/early evening. If Cupid does bring you a proposal, don't wait to accept. The Sun trining Mars in Libra is urging you go with your first impression cause the opportunity may not last. If you do say yes, don't blab it all around. Friday night the Moon opposes retrograde Mercury which means not everyone who hears your story will be supportive. Better to say yes to to whatever pleases you but then keep quiet for a week or two.

Unusually strong and positive planets coming together at the end of this week. The Moon in careful Virgo will first trine powerful Pluto and then magnetic Venus, thus creating a strong support for focusing your attention. Simplify your life this week so you can totally focus your attention on your own interests by Sunday. You could be handed some amazing opportunities.

Mercury, the planet of communication, slips back into Aquarius Wednesday, February 12. I'm expecting some issues that have had us fearful and scared in the dark (Mercury was in Pisces until then) will seem a lot less scary as we move forward into light.

But all of this is days away. For right now, Sunday February 9th, the moon is void of course (not making any connections with any other planets) and for me that's an invitation to put it all on cruise control.

All together now,

Let's Float,
Rosada

2014 - The Year of The Horse Whisperer!

I'm glad I don't often get calls to predict the outcome of sporting events. I would have bet everything and lost on the Broncos at the Super Bowl yesterday because their symbol is the horse and 2014 is The Year of The Horse according to Chinese astrology. On the other hand last Sunday itself was Groundhog Day so maybe that would have been a clue to bet on the under dog instead! Whatever, gambling is a funny thing when it comes to making predictions. You'd think astrology would be able to pick the winners and I know lots of psychics who have had success using the stars for maybe three or four games in a row but then something always happens. One team may appear to have the best planets but then they'll be trounced by a weaker team who has just one player with a winning chart. It actually makes a striking example of how one person with the will to succeed  can change the final outcome for everyone.

We're really needing such individuals who refuse to be defeated to step up and speak up this season. Mercury - the planet that runs the information switch board - is all over the heavens. Just a couple of days ago it entered Pisces, the sign of dreamers and intuitives, encouraging those of us who look for symbols' hidden meanings to wonder about horses and groundhogs and whether there is a message behind it all. Then on Thursday February 6 Mercury will turn retrograde, come out of dream land and scoot back into Aquarius, the sign of sharp minds and inspired inventions. It's as if we are for a few days here being given a glimpse of the heavenly possibilities and then with that vision to guide us we come down to earth and invent the right circumstances to put our plan into action. With this strong planetary support for visualizing your dream and making it happen use the next couple of days to think about what a wonderful world it could be - then  come back to reality and refuse to let the nay sayers get you down. Make it your goal to have your world so simplified and organized that by the time Mercury enters Pisces Fantasyland again in mid-March you can float on cruise control.

Meanwhile do you remember how a few years back not everyone knew their Sun sign and hardly anyone knew their Chinese animal sign? Well I've noticed a shift in awareness this year. Seems like now everyone knows their astrological chart and we're ready to take on the Chinese system too. I love how astrologers and diviners can study and gleam benefit from a multitude of systems - astrology, numerology, runes, cards etc. Hopefully someday we'll have the same attitude about religion and be able to study and benefit from all the different religions rather than arguing that only one can be "right". Perhaps this expanded curiosity and eagerness to learn about foreign belief systems is an example of the whole energy pattern happening this Chinese Year of The Horse. Horse energy gallops to make connections which means that in 2014 we should find ourselves able to see the big picture, recognize patterns, and make connections quickly too. If you've ever wanted to take a course or learn something new, now is the time. Talk to yourself like you're a horse whisperer - that is, be gentle with yourself but firm. Treat yourself like you're training a prize racehorse - and this year the good news is we all can be blue ribbon winners!

Rosada
