New Moon in Aries April 3

Happy New Moon, Dear Friends!

This one for April is going to be a doozy. Six of the ten planets we look at will be in this high energy sign suggesting the impulse to act first/think later will be the major challenge we're all facing.

Starting with Uranus, the planet of disruption at 0 degrees Aries I suspect we'll be finding ourselves starting each day from a whole new perspective. Has your habit been to get up every morning at the same time and to follow the same routine? You may find that's all changing this month. Also you may find yourself overwhelmed with new ideas because Uranus is the planet of equality and whereas in the past you may have easily prioritized what was important in your life and screened out what was not, we now are re-evaluating those decisions and it leads to things that might never have attracted our attention suddenly demanding equal consideration. Eat breakfast? Answer the phone? Bring about world peace? it's hard to know which is more important and what to give attention to first.

To make focusing even more difficult, Mars, the planet of energy, is also at 0 degrees Aries, urging us to jump on our horse and ride to the rescue - in all directions at once. Big mistake. Note Mercury is in Aries now too, but retrograde thus agreements we make this month we may later need to re-negotiate.

With this combination the best advice I can give is we're just at the beginning of a whole new era here. Many, many opportunities coming in this spring. It's right to make commitments but make them short term.

Time out for a chuckle!:
One of the ways I do my readings is that when I am looking at your chart I hear music in the back of my mind. Not high class spiritual stuff - more like rock and roll tunes with a message. As I look at April's New Moon chart I'm hearing, "My Momma Told Me, 'You Better Shop Around'"!

Next in line come the sun, the moon and Jupiter, all right around 13 - 15 degrees Aries. Now many of us are familiar with the idea that what we focus our attention on the day of the new moon will set the tone for the month ahead. This new moon however - because it's combined with Jupiter, the planet of expansion, abundance and long distance travel - our prayers and meditations will be clearing our path for the whole year ahead! Make a special point of putting your focus on where you want your path to take you.

Next Saturn, who always gets a bad rap and indeed many of you have heard me refer to Saturn as The Giant Squelch of The Universe. This month however we can all be grateful for Saturn performing his thankless task of telling us to slow down. Saturn is in Libra now exactly opposing expansive Jupiter and rather than just being a wet blanket at this time we're probably going to be grateful we've got some thoughtful friends who will be gently reminding us we mustn't over extend ourselves and for once we may just be glad we have calmer heads to fall back on. Don't hesitate to use them as an excuse to delay. Say, "Sure, that sounds like a great idea. Just let me check with my partner first, " the next time someone asks you to sign your life away on the dotted line. On the other hand, if you do need a little stern reminder of Saturn's authority just remember his message is, "The energy you put out is the energy that comes back. You mess it up, you clean it up." and this month he really, really means it.

Pluto, the planet of life and death and overwhelming experiences, is linking with Venus, the planet of love for most of April. Venus will be in Pisces, the sign of suffering and compassion and ...sleep. Certainly here's been an out-pouring of sympathy for our brothers and sisters all over the world who have experienced tragedy recently. I wonder if some good can come out of this by making us all more compassionate but is there also a danger we are becoming overwhelmed ... numb, falling asleep? All the Aries planets are saying we each individually must choose where we can most beneficially focus our attention.

The planet of last degree at the time of the new moon will be Neptune, the planet of dreams but also excapism, drugs, alcohol, or just uncertainty. This means that the prayers and meditations begun with the new moon will manifest in some sort of neptunian fashion. If we jump into things without a clear game plan all our best efforts could Neptune like dissolve into nothing. But if we pay attention and consciously choose and accept our responsibilities April and the year ahead could lead to our dreams coming true.

On that note, here's wishing you sweet dreams and a wonderful new moon!

And of course, I love to hear your feedback and to answer any of your personal questions,
